Nichiren Shoshu Head Temple Taisekiji.
Today, Nichiren Shoshu is proud of its more than 750 years of history. In October 1290, the Second Founder Nikko Shonin, who received the Heritage of the Law, the lifeblood of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism, founded Nichiren Shoshu Head Temple Taisekiji.
Due to the increasing number of believers making pilgrimages in recent years, various temples have been established on the Head Temple grounds, which have been beautifully maintained and landscaped. Taisekiji is a magnificent and graceful, sacred place.

Current Status of Nichiren Shoshu.
In Japan, there are 653 temples, 32 propagation centres and 16 offices. Overseas, there are 24 temples, 7 propagation centres and 1 office. There are lay believers in 50 countries. (Situation in Japan and overseas as of August 2015)
Enjoying a peaceful life in a troubled society.
Today, we are forced to live in a society with no clear direction, owing to several difficulties, such as the worldwide economic crisis.
Also, there are numerous sources of concern at work, stress in human relations, sickness, old age, etc.
Therefore, how can we find the mental and spiritual support to give us a solution to be able to survive in such an unstable society?
Nichiren Daishonin established the teaching of Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo to save all humanity.

Nichiren Daishonin’s teaching and its benefits.
Nichiren Daishonin taught the following to his followers: “Those who maintain faith in the Lotus Sutra are as if in winter, but winter always turns to spring”. (Gosho, p. 832)
This encouragement indicates that you will surely gain true happiness if you take faith in Myoho-Renge-Kyo, irrespective of any hardship that you may be facing.
When you start this practice with sincere faith in the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin, you will acquire various benefits, such as:
1. Your sincere prayers to the Gohonzon will definitely be fulfilled.
2. You will develop a strong mind that overcomes any suffering or anxiety, through establishing a purified life and gaining the wisdom to judge things correctly.
3. You may attain true happiness and lead the people in your surroundings to it.
4. You can obtain great benefits that will save your parents, enable your ancestors to attain enlightenment, and give happiness to your offspring.
Many people live fulfilling lives with joy and appreciation, after having overcome many hardships through their faith and practice of Nichiren Daishonin’s teachings.
All people wish to spend their limited and precious lives without regret.
